Sail Racing Compasses
ComNav racing compasses have been developed with the world’s top racers and sailors while in the midst of winning several World and Olympic titles. The tactical scales and ease of readability give you a distinct advantage in the heat of a race. The cone-shaped cards with gimballed lubberlines have the main steering scale on the horizontal plane, while the tactical scale is printed on the vertical edge.
The Racing Series
Detecting windshifts may be the only difference between winning and losing. The tactical scale grades from 0-20 with the figures corresponding on port and starboard tacks. If the reading on the starboard tack is 2, then the reading on port after tacking should be 2. In this way, all you have to do is remember one number. This feature is a great benefit in triangular course racing where you want to detect wind shifts, not your actual course.

The Racing Elite Series
This series features a tactical scale that is divided into a green starboard and a red port scale. Thus you can read the actual course on either tack from the helmsman’s normal position. The green and red memory arrows tells you to tack if the figure decreases while on a starboard tack, or if the number increases while on a port tack. The top allows you to read the course downwind or to check the start-line position.
